Old Thorn Barn

Old Thorn Barn offers a warm welcome, to this Seventeenth-century barn which over looks beautiful Norfolk Countryside. The barn has been carefully restored to retain all its original features. The bedrooms are all cosily furnished and have private facilities. Breakfast is served in the long barn where a wood burning stove and a lounge area combine with the dining room to form a casual and relaxing atmosphere.

In the summer a stoned courtyard (off the lounge) with tables and chairs will be available for guests and friends. Corporation Farm, an impressive group of buildings, so called because it was owned by the Great Hospital from the thirteenth century, and after 1835 by the Norwich Corporation who took over the administration of the city charities. The farm was therefore unlikely to have received much personal attention from the owner.

On this 200-acre farm there were two substantial seventeenth-century barns as well as stables of a similar date on the end of one of the barns. The Old Thorn Barn has undergone a thorough and comprehensive program of reconstruction and refurbishment, culminating in a delightful and comfortable guest house.
