The Forest's luxury 5 star accommodation comprises of five attractive and comfortable en-suite double bedrooms, one with a four-poster bed for bed and breakfast. All the bedrooms have fine views of the garden and the Kerry Valley and have satellite television, WIFI, internet access and tea tray. We offer high quality accommodation for walkers, riders, cyclists, business people and holiday makers looking for a tranquil location to relax and a base from which to explore the Newtown area and Mid Wales. The Forest is set in 4 acres of gardens in the secluded and peaceful Kerry Valley. The spacious drawing room is perfect for relaxing with views over the garden and Kerry hills around Newtown. Children are welcome and we have kennels for guest's dogs (dogs are not allowed in the accommodation itself) and stables for 3 horses.
There is a lot to see and do in this beautiful area of The Marches including sports, scenic walks, castles and pretty villages and towns. The ancient market town of Newtown is located 3 miles away in the heart of the magnificent Montgomeryshire. There are wonderful walks nearby including the 15 mile Kerry Ridgeway, Offa's Dyke and Glyndwr's Way. Montgomery with its castle ruins and the medieval Powis Castle are close by and there are steam railways and canals too.
Outdoor activities in the area include golf, fishing, shooting, pony trekking, quad biking, cycling, gliding, ballooning and many more. Indoor activities include King Arthur's Labyrinth, Spaceguard Centre, Stokesay Castle, museums and galleries.
Environmental Statement
A wood burning stove and open fire in the house as well as wood burning stoves in each cottage helps to use up timber from fallen trees in the garden and nearby woodlands. Organic produce is very important to the Martin family so we have 6 free range chickens. The hens should lay about 6 eggs a day which are often on the menu for guests to enjoy.
