A warm and inviting lodge style hotel conveniently located in the bustling market town of Carnforth on the A6 (Carnforth Station was where “Brief Encounters” was filmed), close to Junction 35 of the M6. The obvious attractions aside, the delightful town of Carnforth and it's immediate vicinity has it's own unique charm and appeal. This area has a rich and fascinating history; amongst other things being the ancestral home of George Washington. Dominated by the local Warton Crag nature reserve, the area encompasses towns and villages each with their own distinctive character. The A6 was the old coaching road close to Scotland and is traditionally the gateway to the Lakes. We are about 5 miles from Lancaster and the Lake District is about 40 minutes drive. Closer to hand is the PADI approved Capernwray Diving Centre.

On site there is ample free parking available The County Hotel itself offers en-suite lodge style accommodation furnished to a high standard, combined with excellent dining facilities in its licensed Poacher's Restaurant, plus a traditional bar offering daily snacks and beverages to relax after a tiring day exploring the local area which includes the Lake District National Park.

For a truly relaxing and unforgettable break the County Hotel has it all.
