There are red squirrels, deer, pheasants and on occasion you might spot the hotel's own resident Harris' hawks! The surrounding area is full of natural beauty, with fascinating walks along the loch and through the forests at Foyers, Dores, Inverfarigaig and Fort Augustus. Some of the world's best boating, fishing and shooting are found nearby, as well as a huge range of scenic, top quality golf courses. There is also biking, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking, plenty of castles and battlefields for an historic day out or the chance to nose the fine whiskies of the Highlands' distilleries.
