Set high behind Mullion Cliffs in the quiet hamlet of Predannack just one and a half miles from Mullion Village (1mile if you walk!) and 1/2 a mile from the pretty harbour of Mullion Cove. Caunce Head is the hideaway you are looking for.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery on the costal paths, and be surrounded by beautiful countryside and a National Nature Reserve cared for by English Nature, all this is on the doorstep, no need to move the car! The Lizard Peninsula is a truly unspoilet corner of Cornwall.
The rugged coastline, dotted with tiny fishing villages and perfect sandy coves, is broken by deeply wooded valleys and the secret splendour of the Helford River - made famous by Daphne du Maurier in the novel "Frenchman`s Creek". It is minutes away by car and easily accessible to walkers.
Nationally recognised for rare Fauna and Flora, the area is perfect at any time of the year. Caunce Head is steeped in History from once being a mine captains house to being owned by a member of the Bloomsbury Set and a Hungarian artist, the house was also used by Sherlock Holmes for the setting of his short story 'The Devils Foot' being the house nearest the celtic cross.
