Bistro Prego is all about using quality locally sourced produce to create great flavours in modern, unfussy food. The daily menu changes on a weekly basis depending on what locally sourced seasonal produce is available.
Prego has eight rooms, all with TV's, coffee and tea-making facilities, hairdryers and ensuite bathrooms. Guests may also use the lounge, lit during the day by a lovely roof skylight.
Located in the heart of Monmouth's old town in Church Street, the pedestrianised centre of the old part of Monmouth town does make Prego an ideal place to stay. Free of a lot of traffic noice, it has ample public parking right outside the back door.
Monmouth itself is a Welsh border market town, situated at the confluence of the Rivers Wye, Monnow and Trothy. With its bustling main street it makes a great destination for a holiday or a day out.
Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth boasts a whole host of historical sites, people and buildings from the Nelson Garden to The Town Hall. It has a medieval 13th-century bridge over the river Monnow, unique in Britain as it is the only preserved bridge of its design remaining.
It is a beautiful and varied area which attracts walkers from all over Europe, a land boasting truly magnificent scenery and a wealth of historic treasures - jewels such as world famous Tintern Abbey and the time-ravaged castles of the Welsh borderlands.
