Esplanade Hotel

The Esplanade Hotel is superbly situated on the beach in the ever popular resort of Shanklin, and is a fabulous location for Isle of Wight holidays. Our virtual tour shows our seafront location and the fantastic views available. While we are merely a few steps from the sandy beach, the Hotel also provides a central base for the many fine coastal and countryside walks that are available in the area. We are conveniently located close to the picturesque Shanklin Old Village, which is just a few minutes walk, and we are within 20 minutes drive to best of the Islands theme parks and attractions.

Our popular fully licensed Bar and Restaurant features a varied menu consisting of home cooked daily specials and traditional favourites, and is an essential stop on your Isle of Wight holiday. The Esplanade Hotel Bar and Restaurant is an ideal venue for traditional breakfasts, lunches, and relaxing evening meals. Our beachfront bar and restaurant patio is a favourite spot to relax with a long cool drink over lunch and take in the wonderful views from Shanklin across Sandown bay towards the white cliffs of Culver Down. The restaurant opens on a seasonal basis, and is only available in the summer months.

All accommodation is en-suite and offered in a selection of doubles, large family rooms and comfortable 2 room family suites that sleep up to 6 persons. The luxuriously spacious Alverstone room (featured on the website virtual tour) complete with original Victorian carrara marble fireplace and beach view balcony, is arguably one of the largest and most comfortable rooms available in any Isle of Wight hotel, and certainly benefits from one of the best views. A number of our other rooms also have spectacular sea views and some have very spacious balconies directly overlooking the seafront and beach.
