Pugmill is a superb conversion of a 19th century farm building, centrally located between the Heritage coastline and the Northumberland National Park. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms make it perfect for four sharing. For those seeking peace and quiet, it lies tucked away along a private road with extensive views over farm and moorland. There is a traditional country pub in the village nearby, the market town of Alnwick is ten minutes away.

The tiny hamlet of Harehope Farm is within one of the most beautiful yet little known countryside areas in Northumberland. The area is very well served with footpaths, bridleways and quiet lanes so walks can begin from the doorstep, the best views of the Cheviot Hills can be seen from here. The Northumberland National Park and the Heritage Coast are within very easy reach on quiet country roads. Eglingham village, with its 14th century church, is one of Northumberland's most picturesque and the village pub, The Tankerville Arms, is popular with both locals and visitors serving good locally sourced food. A short distance from the village is Chillingham Castle, reputed to be England's most haunted, and Chillingham Wild Cattle, thought to be the only pure wild breed in the British Isles.
Pugmill is beautifully presented and well equipped throughout with excellent attention to detail. Central heating is controllable, with a carbon neutral logburner for cosy evenings. There are views from the main rooms, with the sitting room on the first floor to take best advantage. The timber beamed farmhouse kitchen is exceptionally spacious and well equipped, with energy efficient appliances integrated into the hand built units. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one on each floor, can comfortably accommodate four adults and children are welcome at any age. A private garden is to the front, planted recently with native trees and shrubs for wildlife, with a small plot for vegetables and herbs when in season. Information is provided at the cottage on the local area, places to visit, events, local transport and where to source and eat local food. We will even deliver some locally sourced, fairtrade and organic essentials to start your holiday.
