With its church dating from the 7th century, Corbridge is just off the picturesque A68 road and a convenient break between York and Edinburgh. It is an ideal base from which to explore Northumberland and Hadrians Wall country, yet only 20 minutes from the centre of Newcastle. Northumberland has the most castles of any county (25) and these are all accessible from Corbridge, as is the wonderful east coastline with its stunning beaches.
Riggsacre has the best Tourist Board rating of 5 Stars, Gold Award (2008), is recommended by “Which?” (Editor's top 20 B+B 2005) and is Michelin recommended (2009). It is a substantial detached bungalow situated in a peaceful lane in one of the nicest areas of Corbridge. There are two luxurious ensuite rooms, each with king-size double beds. The 24ft Garden Room suite is spacious and peaceful with an ensuite shower room and the 4Poster Room has a large ensuite bathroom with shower above. There is free WiFi to both rooms.
There is private parking within the grounds and the many chic speciality shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants in the centre of the village are only 3 minutes walk away. Minimum 2 nights.
