The White House

The White House is a delightful 15th Century Grade II listed manor house set in one acre of attractive gardens providing a warm and relaxing atmosphere for all. Refurbished to an outstanding quality by Mike and Linda, The White House offers first class bed and breakfast accommodation, tailored to guests’ individual needs. Being located close to Stansted Airport 1.5 miles, (but not on the flight path), The White House is the perfect venue for travellers going to and from the airport. The White House is conveniently situated for easy access to East Anglia's many attractions, including Hatfield Forest, Duxford Imperial War Museum, Cambridge and Newmarket Races as well as the City of London by road or rail. A continental style buffet breakfast is served for those departing early, and for those with a more leisurely start, a hearty English cooked breakfast served in the traditional, open beamed countryside kitchen. An evening meal is available at our nearby pub, The Lion and Lamb, which is also owned by Mike and Linda and is just a 2-minute drive away where British and modern European food is served all day until 10.00pm. To assist you during your stay with us, The White House offers, subject to availability, free transportation to the Lion and Lamb. There is ample parking at a cost of £3.00 per day.
