The Tithe Barn

Hello, and welcome to The Tithe Barn Bed and Breakfast in Cottesmore, which is a picturesque stone village in the unspoilt county of Rutland. There is a local thatched pub (The Sun), village store and Post Office and a very good Fish and Chip cafe.

The original house was built of the attractive local stone over five centuries ago and retains many interesting features - notably the "Dovecote". Located in the main house you will find the wood pannelled dining room where we serve delicious freshly cooked breakfasts, using locally sourced produce where possible. Local information on places to dine, including local pub menus, and details of local places of interest to visit are also available in the dining room.

All of our rooms have everything you need for your stay, some having views over the garden. We offer five rooms in the main house and two superior rooms with superking-sized beds on the ground floor in the pretty cottage annexe - one with a delightful conservatory overlooking the garden.

Rutland itself is a very pretty county with many villages having interesting pubs/restaurants including one with a Michelin Star. The three market towns of Oakham, Stamford and Uppingham are within easy reach as are the larger cities of Peterborough, Leicester and Nottingham. The Tithe Barn is located just two miles from the award winning Barnsdale Gardens, and nearby Rutland Water offers a range of activities including cycling,windsurfing,fishing,walking,sailing and birdwatching.There are a number of interesting and historical country houses, castles and estates including Burghley House, Rockingham & Belvoir Castles and Belton House (NT).

We are easily accessible by road, being only five minutes drive from the A1.

Check in times are between 4pm and 8pm and departure by 10.30am.We operate a NO-SMOKING policy indoors.
