To many, the East End of London and The City represents the 'real' London that is far removed from the touristy and commercial West End. The East Tour offers a fascinating guide to these areas and something off of the beaten path that you may not otherwise see. Starting at the Tour Company's base at Gabriel's Wharf, on the South Bank of the Thames, moving East going past the recently rebuilt Shakespeare Globe Theatre and Francis Drake's Golden Hind before leading up to and crossing the iconic Tower Bridge to the charming, quaint St. Katherine’s Dock. From there the tour heads towards the East End, crossing 'The Highway' into Cable Street. This is an area with a colourful history and fascinating mix of cultures and people. Then on to the edge of the City at Aldgate, an area made infamous by Jack The Ripper. From Aldgate we move further into the city and into the modern financial district as our tour guide illustrates the dramatic change from a multi cultural working class area to a rich, modern business hub. You will see the Royal Exchange, the Mansion House, the Guildhall, the 'Gherkin' and many other famous City institutions. An area full of cutting edge modern architecture that is intermingled by ancient churches and relics of the Roman city that you will be sure to find fascinating. Saddle up at our hire centre on the South Bank and get comfortable on your bike before embarking on another fantastic tour of London. This tour goes West almost to Kensington. We will start off along the river, past the National Theatre and under the London Eye before taking a quick break under Westminster Bridge to admire the imposing and iconic Houses of Parliament in all their glory. From there we cycle along the South Bank of the River Thames to Lambeth Palace, the home of The Church of England and one of London's oldest remaining palaces. Cycling through quaint, charming streets populated with centuries old red brick houses, we end up at the Westminster Abbey School Yard. Then we briefly take in Westminster Abbey before heading towards London's parkland. Passing Buckingham Palace we cycle up Constitution Hill to Hyde Park. Hyde Park is a must see for anyone visiting London and the ideal way to explore it is on two wheels. Our tour shows you many of the highlights of the park including The Diana Memorial, Royal Albert Memorial, Serpentine lake & gallery and Speakers Corner before heading out of the park to Trafalgar Square under the watchful eye of Lord Nelson towards Covent Garden- London's theatre land and a great place to do a bit of shopping or eating. From there we head back down to the river, over Waterloo Bridge and back to the hire centre to dump our bikes and grab a well deserved drink!

Take a morning cycle ride in central London. Saddling up at our cycle hire centre at Gabriels Wharf located on the south side of the river in Waterloo. After choosing a bike, our experienced guide will escort you along the riverside, down side roads and alley ways though central London. Stopping along the way to admire the amazing engineering achievement, of The B.A. London Eye, the largest ferris wheel in the world, and then just under the bridge, the story of Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament. Continuing along the river, crossing on Lambeth Bridge cycling past the small red brick houses that line the streets. Though the courtyard of Westminster School, from there you can admire the belfry of Westminster Abbey, then over to St. James and the park. The reason for starting early is to meet up with the (don’t miss) pomp and pageantry associated with the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Heading back to central London, walking though Trafalgar Square with Lord Nelson looking down from his pedestal, Leicester Square, skirting China Town we then cycle over Covent Garden. Taking a break and watching some street theatre on offer in the market piazza. Back on the bikes, the ride takes us though London’s legal district and over to the colourful Leather Lane Market. Smithfield’s Market London’s meat market recently redeveloped to conform to EU. hygiene standards.
Then over too Sir Christopher Wren’s amazing St Paul’s Cathedral. The river in sight, crossing south on the famous Wobbly Bridge, you will now feel that you have a real orientation of central London.
