Daniel Cook, Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral, gives the ‘summer holiday’ recital on 13 August. With his recital two days before the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, he has based his programme around Marian music. He performs Bull, Buxtehude, Reger, Rheinberger and Tournemire on Marian themes, framed by the famous Bach D major Prelude and Fugue and Dupré’s fiendishly difficult Suite.
The recital is from 7.30pm-8.45pm.

Salisbury Cathedral’s Organ Recital Series 2008 reaches its conclusion on when Michael Harris, Director of Music at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, performs music by Bach, César Franck, Hakim, Hollins and Schumann. In addition to his duties at St Giles, where he plays on the fantastic Rieger organ built in 1992, Michael is an extraordinarily busy and highly respected recitalist.
