Cambridge House is a small, friendly family owned guest house built in the traditional Lakeland style. Enjoying a village centre location offers ideal accommodation for your Lake District holiday. Being only a minutes walk from the numerous shops, restaurants and pubs of Windermere, a mere 5 minute walk from the railway and coach station, and only a pleasant 15 minute walk to the beautiful Lake Windermere.

Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage, both former homes of Wordsworth are close by. After taking the Windermere Ferry it's a short walk to Sawrey where Beatrix Potter's characters sprang to life, or Hill Top another of her homes.

Cambridge House takes pride in its warm, friendly atmosphere and extra tasty home-cooked breakfasts, whether it is a Full English or Vegetarian breakfast or even something from our lighter alternatives, our aim is to give our guests that 'home from home' feel, and provide an enjoyable holiday in Windermere. Guest staying two nights or more at Cambridge House can enjoy the use of the facilities at the nearby Parklands Country Club in Bowness.

We are pleased to offer our guests who stay two nights or more free leisure facilities at Parklands Country Club, this includes swimming pool, sauna. Jacuzzi, steam room and a nice bar to relax and watch the sport or have a game of snooker or pool, or just sit & chat, Parklands also offer a beauty specialist who offers massage, waxing, tanning, manicure by appointment and payable locally.

All our rooms are en-suite, and feature flat screen tv with satellite channels, DVD, CD player and complimentary use of CD & DVD library - although Cambridge House has very high standards and all our rooms offer home from home comfort, we are classified as a guest house not a hotel.
