The Royal Oak is set in the beautiful village of Winsford in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. The Royal Oak offers relaxed comfort, inspiring food and wine, local ales, and warm, exceptional service. Come to the Royal Oak for a weekend retreat, a candle lit dinner, a well earned sportsman’s lunch or simply a quiet pint of Exmoor Ale and bag of pork scratchings. During your stay should you wish to pamper and revive yourself after a day’s activities on the moor you can book a Thai massage or reflexology treatment. Paul Cartwight and Lucie Moore have trained extensively throughout Thailand and will treat you in the privacy of your own room. It is advisable to book with as much notice as you can, a treatment list can be sent prior to your arrival. A large private drawing room provides a peaceful escape to read, have a glass of something by the fire or to finish off your evening meal with coffee and one of our fine whisky collection. Children are welcome, and we can provide a travel cot and child’s pull out bed in the larger rooms. We are big fans of clean and well behaved dogs, and for a little extra they can stay in the room with you. The 8 en-suite newly refurbished rooms at The Royal Oak are all individually decorated and equipped with the little extras to make your stay comfortable including, fresh coffee, tea and hot chocolate and home-made biscuits. Soft, white bath sheets and Archive Aromatherapy products are in every bathroom.
