The hotel is over 400 year old, and is set in delightful grounds (The gardens have won first prize in "Taunton In Bloom" two years running) only a mile from the centre of Taunton. The owners have opened up three original inglenook fireplaces and a complete working well over 30 feet deep, which was uncovered in the kitchen.
The bedrooms are individually decorated with antique furniture, all rooms are ensuite and have have a hospitality tray,radio.alarms/direct dial telephones, and remote control LCD Televisions. Extra touches include luxury toiletries, sweets and paper hankerchiefs.During this winter 4 Bedrooms/ bathrooms will be refurbished, including up-grading to larger Flat Screen Televisions, along with DVD Players
Meryan House has its own Restaurant where local and seasonal produce is used as much as possible, There is a balanced La Carte Menu as well as daily specials, It is advisable to see if the Restaurant is open on weekends, as there is usually private functions going on at weekends.
