Welcome to Craigdarroch House Hotel, you will be immediately struck by the special ambience:- old fashioned wood panelling, high cornice ceilings and period furnishings. The rooms are luxurious and comforting, with most overlooking the loch and some having four poster beds. Back downstairs, relax in the cosy lounge bar and sample some of the 130 varieties of malt whisky on offer. Or maybe ettle in the deep cushioned sofas of the drawing room in front of a roaring log fire, decorated in soft colours with extensive wood panelling, giving an ideal atmosphere in which to unwind with an after dinner drink. Unquestionably the finest views of Loch Ness from any property around the loch can be seen from the windows. The conservatory is a lovely spot to sit and relax with a book in the summer months and spy on the local wildlife in the surrounding woodland. There are red squirrels, deer, pheasants and on occasion you might spot the hotel's own resident Harris' hawks! The surrounding area is full of natural beauty, with fascinating walks along the loch and through the forests at Foyers, Dores, Inverfarigaig and Fort Augustus. Some of the world's best boating, fishing and shooting are found nearby, as well as a huge range of scenic, top quality golf courses. There is also biking, horse riding, canoeing and kayaking, plenty of castles and battlefields for an historic day out or the chance to nose the fine whiskies of the Highlands' distilleries.
